GE Calls For More Exports from the US

Based on Reasoning, Critic's Realm, Featured June 26th, 2009

On the way to work this Friday morning I was listening to NPR (National Public Radio). They broadcasted an interview conducted by host Renee Montagne with General Electric’s CEO Jeffrey Immelt. Mr. Immelt spoke at an economic forum in Montreal earlier in June. He is asking for the United States to increase its exports, especially in areas where there has been or there is a lot of potential for success. That’s great, I agree with him, but he also states that American companies and products have to be competitive in the countries they are being sold in. He often used China…

Over the weekend I had some lack of video from my XBox360. Nothing that some heat couldn’t fix. Apparently most problems with the Xbox360 are fixed by that that kills PC – heat.

I have an XBox360, which is one of those that was born with bugs and “genetic” issue – meaning an early version – one from the early ones, made before the red ring of death became evident  and all the various versions started to come out. Luckily, I don’t abuse and rarely spend massive amount of hours playing it, thus I don’t have very many…

‘Bike Hero’ viral video not a dud, but not a hero either thanks to ad agency Droga5

Micro Blog, gaming November 21st, 2008

‘Bike Hero’ viral video not a dud, but not a hero either thanks to ad agency Droga5 on behalf of Activision. A coworker pointed me to an article on Game Cyte giving some background on the video below. Good job on the video, but who the hell names their company drug 5. Droga translates into drug! Unless they are looking at viral and drug as synonyms it’s an odd choice for a company.

Oh Snap! – Red Alert 3

Entertainment, gaming, video September 19th, 2008

Wow, just wow! This is the best game ad I have seen in very, very long time. Once again the Command and Conquer community is in for a visual treat. It looks like the upcoming Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 has a great cast of actors.

I really enjoy watching this video. I really love the fact that there are references of other games, movies, media and personal work of the actors. The fact that the content of this ad was not limited to just the game makes it a great video ad, which can appeal to all generations of…

Adventure games.

gaming January 31st, 2008

Last night, in the quick chat, on Abandonia someone said “This site should be renamed “dedicated to adventure games”.”. My response to this was “That’s what games used to be back in the day. Now they are all about is this shiny enough? Yes! Can we make it cheep and sell it quick. Yes. Then f**k quality.”.

Yes, games used to be all adventure. I love playing the old quest games. Today’s games are all about “pushing” the limits of the hardware, but when it comes to console gaming, this concept is just a “concept”. Unlike PCs, consoles cannot be upgraded, unlike…

Keep the rocks, I will take the XBOX 360 wireless adapter

Around the World, gaming August 30th, 2007

I want to turn my Xbox 360 wireless, but the cost of the Microsoft Xbox360 wireless network adapter is ridiculously prohibitive – $99. That peace of hardware should not cost so much, knowing that there are so many other wireless adapters, which can be used interchangeably between various types of equipment. Micro$oft is milking the situation. Every few days I scan through ebay looking for someone selling that darn adapter at a low price, or at the least the auction price is around or, hopefully, below $50.

So far … no luck!

Well, tonight, while I was looking through the auctions, I noticed…
