Domain Record Info
Legacy, Techie, Useful Sites March 25th, 2008
I wanted a way to quickly view the record information on a domain, but I did not want anyone tracking domains I look up. Or like some bad registrars, have any possible domain I look up end up as registered thanks to the ICANN grace period and overpriced registrars trying to extort money before selling the domain.
So, I ended up searching for possible WhoIs scripts and how one could query the domain record information and ended up coming across the whois.php script, which is currently utilized on Domain Record Info. Also accessed via WhoIsMesh.com and DomaIndex.Info.
There are few other options/functions I would like to add to the page - ping, dns report, and various help and tutorials information. Eventually I would like to do something similar to DNS Stuff, but for the moment it will have to wait. Right now I have many other projects.
Home, Sweet Home!
The Titan, Traveling July 9th, 2007
We are finally back home, after a two week honeymooning in Californian. There, Amanda and I, spend two weeks driving south from San Francisco to San Diego, stopping in various towns and spending few days here and there.
It is good to be back.
Reversing the flow on SPAM
Announcements, Around the World, Legacy, Techie April 28th, 2007
I am tired of continuously battling SPAM on my websites. I have decided to conduct my own way of combating SPAM. I have decided to reverse the SPAM flow. To do so, I created Bad SPAM, Bad. There I will post any email address that is used in SPAM on my websites.
I wonder how the owners will feel when the SPAM flow is reversed?!
Hive Minds Hosting Progress Update
Legacy March 16th, 2006
The Hive Minds Hosting project is near its completion.
For the current variety of services offered and complexity needed, the web site has been finished. Any changes to the web site in the near future will be purely cosmetic. I might have to restructure the web site in the long term, to improve functionality and management, a result of the products and services that could be offered in the future. As it turns out, after spending couple of weeks researching and planing the future, there is a vast field of options to be considered. The choices vary greatly. I have compiled a huge list that needs to be organized into sections of types of service, cost to start and maintain, what is the possible success rate and return on the investment. Plenty of work, but I won’t have do it until down the road. Read the rest of this entry »
Noob!!! What noob?
The Titan, gaming February 21st, 2006
So, few days ago, I was playing my favorite ‘puter game - Natural Selection - and Amanda walked in the room and saw the game. Somehow she got intrigued and for the following couple of days wanted me to sit and play the game, so she can watch the action. Now, isn’t that awesome? How many guys can say that their girlfriend is asking them to play a ‘puter game so she can watch it? Anyways, on the third day she asked to play.
It did not take her long to get used to is. She just had to get some practice with the movement/looking/aiming all at once.
Seeking a new occupation.
The Titan January 18th, 2006
Last week I quit my job! So now I am looking for a new employer. I worked for a year at my last job. Pretty much since I moved to Chicago. I quit because the job had me traveling all over the North side of Chicago, and Chicago and its surrounding area are HUGE. Doing all that traveling is tiring and ever since my accident last August, when my car was totaled, I have not been too enthused to drive on the thruway.
So, here I am once again, looking for an employer. I have been living downtown for a while now so I want something close to home. There is plenty of opportunities, especially here, downtown Chicago. I really do not want to be doing a whole lot of traveling. I know i can find something more suitable for my experience and educational background.
I will be writing soon about my new job.
How awesome is my future husband?
The Titan January 7th, 2006
Oh, let me count the cells…
Tonight, Alex bought me an early birthday present, (My birthday is Feb. 27th), an awesome present. Let me give some background before I disclose what it is. When Alex and I first met, we had a few problems with going over minutes on our cellphones. I had T-mobile and he had Verizon. To alleviate this issue, Alex added me to his account and bought me a second cell phone. I didn’t like the phone too much but it was cool because I had TWO cell phones. Now, my parents are going to switch over to Verizon to talk to Alex and I for free so I’m getting rid of my very cool T-mobile phone (it has LED lights built in the sides and lights up!). However, my awesome future husband agreed to buy me a new phone. And what phone did he get me? A MOTOROLA RAZR!!!!! Oh, he is so jealous and I’m excited. We got it for a really great deal. It would normally cost $500 but it only cost us $100. To make him feel better, I told him to make it my early birthday present. Even though he agreed, I have a feeling he’s going to try to steal it when it comes in.
TOO BAD HONEY, IT’S MINE!!!!!
So, thank you to my amazing honeybunny for my new RAZR and agreeing not to steal it…too much!
